斋天又称“供天”，全称“供佛斋天”，也就是民间俗称的“拜天公”，是为生者求福，保其平安的一种佛教法会仪式。佛教徒虽不皈依诸天，但应礼敬诸天，因为诸天皈依佛陀，护持教法故。《金光明经》中记载，诸天在金光明会上，于佛前发愿，要永远护持佛教，奉行正法，勤修诸善，远离恶行，同时，也将遵佛之嘱托，巡行人间，成就那些修行及有德之人。为感念诸天护法之功德，故具香华灯涂果等，供奉诸天，酬其恩德，同时也为百姓祈福，这即是斋天的由来。</span></p><p><span
