leaf="">宝顶香会的历史可追溯至南宋，距今已有800多年历史，由闻名天下的宝顶山石窟衍生而来。它萌动于南宋，在元明时期逐渐兴盛，至清代、民国达到顶峰，香火历代不衰。清代康熙年间，史彰在《重开宝顶山记碑》中记载其“历代香火最盛，名齐峨眉”，并留下了“上朝峨眉，下朝宝顶”的民间谚语，足见其在西南地区的宗教影响力。这一谚语也将其与浙江普陀山香会并举，成为全国朝拜观音菩萨规模最大的两大香会之一 leaf="">自古以来，宝顶山香会兴旺不衰，自正月初至二月底，前后四五十天均为会期，农历二月十九观音菩萨圣诞日，为香会正会，尤为热闹。香会最具特色的形式是“架香”朝山。所谓“架香”，即由信众结成的有组织的进香团队。每届香会，来自云南、贵州、四川、陕西、湖南等地的信众云集于此，少则十多万，多则四五十万。架香队伍沿途每逢寺院、场镇、桥梁，乃至进入宝顶山大佛湾、圣寿寺，队伍都会逐地逐庙、逐龛逐窟地进行参拜，最后在千手观音像前举行“交香还愿”的仪式。</span></span></p><p><span
