16px;">吉祥天女，梵名摩诃室利，梵文音译“摩诃室利”，“摩诃”意为“大”，“室利”有二个意思：功德和吉祥。合起来即是“大功德”、“大吉祥”。又称大吉祥天女，或称功德天。在《大吉祥天女十二契一百八名无垢大乘经》则列举了108种名称。此外还有宝藏天女或第一威德成就众事大功德天等名。此女，是佛教北方守护神具有“多闻”与“财神”之称的毗沙门天王的妹妹，同时，也是佛教护法之一母女神的女儿。所以，吉祥天女也就成为了佛教中的财富女神与威德女神。</span></p><p 16px;">据《金光明经》记载：吉祥天女在过去宝华功德海琉璃金山照明佛所种下种种的善根，所以能够做到“我今随所念方，随所视方，随所至方，能令无量百千众生受诸快乐。若衣服、饮食、资生之具，金银，七宝、真珠、琉璃、珊瑚、琥珀、壁玉、珂贝，悉无所乏。”不仅如此，吉祥天女因为称念如来名号而得诸佛的加持，做到“能脱一切罪，除灭一切烦恼，令一切身作无垢；召集增益一切财谷，能除贫穷；能摄召一切天龙、药叉、罗刹、干闼婆、阿修罗、迦楼罗、紧那罗、摩诃罗伽；能息一切逼恼诤讼斗战；能成办六波罗蜜。”当有人称念、读诵《金光明经》及以花等代天女供养诸佛，三称其名，烧香供养。“供养佛已，别以香华种种美味，供施于我，洒散诸方。当知是人，即能聚集资财宝物。以是因缘增长地味，地神诸天悉皆欢喜，所种谷米、牙茎、枝叶、果实滋茂。树神欢喜，出生无量种种诸物。我是慈念诸众生故，多与资生所须之物。”</span></p><p
